Sue Barrett
Sue is a 2006 Graduate from Branford Career Institute and is Board Certified. Before becoming a massage therapist, she worked full time as a hairdresser/manager for 18 years. She joined AMTA as a student member, becoming a Professional member after getting her licensure in 2006. Sue is a lifelong learner after pursuing her massage career.
Volunteering is a big part of that learning; she is a member of and trained for the Sport Massage team, CSMT team and Emergency Division team. She also volunteered her time coordinating and participating in National Massage Therapy Awareness Week. Learning about the House of Delegates intrigued her so she pursued what she needed to do to become a Delegate/Alternate and then went on to be a Lead Delegate going to National Conference to represent the CT Chapter for the House of Delegates. Sue also helped to raise monies for the Massage Therapy Foundation serving on their outreach committee for several years. She enjoys being a part of the chapter leadership where she has served on the board as 1 st VP, CSMT Coordinator/chair, Conference committee and then as CT Committee Conference Chair.
She is now looking forward to being a part of the Assembly of Delegates.
Sue has a full-time practice in Hebron, providing massage and reflexology. She also teaches Reflexology classes in person and on Zoom.
She has been married for 36 years to her wonderful husband, has four children and one grandchild. Sue was on the BOD for the Windham Chamber of Commerce and the Parish Council at her church. She was involved and on the Board of her local BNI group for several years. She is currently a member of the Northeast Chamber of Commerce.
She believes that her success comes from treating people the way she would expect to be treated and nothing less.
