Connecticut Conference Chair
Becca has been a massage therapist since 2005, graduating from the Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in Worcester, MA. She immediately opened her own practice and has been self-employed ever since. Becca specializes in pain management work as well as Arvigo(R) Therapy, a form of Maya Abdominal Therapy that helps GI and reproductive issues. Becca is an active AMTA member, first joining the Connecticut Board of Directors in 2010. Becca is a member of the national Governance Committee (a standing committee) and Chair of the Policy Workgroup Committee (a subcommittee of the Governance Committee). Becca is also the Conference Chair for the Connecticut chapter.
Like many who enter the profession, massage is a second career for Becca. With a BA in English, she spent 12 years as a technical writer and usability expert, helping to design user interfaces and writing HTML help systems for electrical engineering software. Becca also played flute for 18 years, is a HUGE marching band fan and taught color guard for 12 years (at BC and UCONN), and is a SCUBA divemaster with over 100 dives. Becca is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Education with hopes of teaching massage therapy in Asnuntuck Community College’s Associate’s Degree in Massage Therapy program.
