Massage Therapy Awareness Day

Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Capitol Building North Lobby, 210 Capitol Avenue, Hartford CT

Massage Therapy Awareness Day is approaching! This is the day where we go to the Capitol and educate our legislators on what professional massage therapy is. We help to educate about any legislation that would impact us as a profession while offering 10-minute massage sessions.

We are looking for at least 10 therapists per shift. The space allows for massage chairs and Thai mats, but not tables.

When: This event is Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We will have three shifts: 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., 11.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. , and 12.30 p.m. – 4.30 p.m. These are four-hour shifts. If you need to arrive late or leave early from a selected shift, please note that. If you are able to work a six-hour or full-day shift, please let us know and we will ensure a 45-minute break for lunch.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED

Who: Any CT Licensed, active AMTA graduate or professional member (student members may work the check-in table).

What: Chair or Thai massage (bring your own equipment). We will supply face cradle covers and Lysol wipes. Bring your business cards, water, and snacks you may want for your shift.

Where: Capitol Building North Lobby, 210 Capitol Avenue, Hartford CT

PLEASE NOTE: There is limited parking at the Capitol/LOB, so try to carpool
if that is an option for you.

Wear an AMTA volunteer shirt if you have one from prior years. If you have a Sports Team or massage business polo, scrub top, or professional top, that is also appropriate. Professional slacks (nothing torn or stained) or bottoms that allow for comfort and movement. We work on marble floors, so comfortable, supportive shoes are usually the best.
