I want to let everyone know that the CT-Chapter is not planning a Conference in April of 2021. Due to the pandemic this will be the second conference we have had to pass on.
We are looking forward to starting planning on a conference in April of 2022. An event this size takes almost 2 years to plan. I have every expectation that our Conference Committee will come up with a great education experience for our members.
If you are interested in serving on the committee, please reach out to Becca at ConferenceAMTACT@gmail.com. This entire event is planned and managed by volunteers. There are many duties from planning to on-site help with many different time commitments. We can use your “super power” skills for marketing, budgeting, event planning, registration, exhibit hall planning and managing on-site staff. This is one of the most rewarding and fun committee to serve on.
AMTA-CT Chapter Annual Meeting Update
Our annual meeting on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 will be a virtual meeting from 7-8pm
In-person Education and Chapter Meeting Update
Our first in-person education event currently being planned will take place in October of 2021. The dates will appear on the calendar when we have confirmed our education and meeting space.
Sport Massage and Community Service Massage Team Event Update
Officially AMTA has placed a ban on any in-person events until June 1, 2021. Once we have more information and find that sports events or community service massage team events will be able to be held based on State guidelines, we will start planning team events.
Virtual Education Events Update
The Board of Directors and Education Chair are working on providing Live-Virtual Education Events that will be provided to members at no cost. We are hoping to offer a variety of classes at different times. As events are booked, the dates will appear on the website in the event calendar. Emails will be sent to membership once the registration for these classes open.
On behalf of the AMTA-CT Chapter Board of Directors and Chairs, I want to wish everyone a safe and happy 2021. We are all looking forward to the time when we can meet in person.
Mindy Michaud, AMTA-CT Chapter President
