In your latest issue of AMTA Hands On, you may have noticed a Bylaw notification. Bylaws govern the association and members are notified, and have a chance to share their feedback, before changes are officially made by the National Board.

This specific bylaw change involves the language used to describe how a chapter or national board will fill a vacancy. The current language is different between chapter and national, although they both operate the same way. In addition, the language has created confusion and different chapters interpret it in different ways. The Governance Committee proposes the changes in this Bylaw notification to provide clarity and, hopefully, simplicity.
