2024 AMTA-CT Chapter Government Relations and Legislative Advocate – Ro Dunn

In the Fall of 2021, Rep. Gilchrest reached out to the chapter asking for a recommendation of a massage therapist in the Fairfield area to be part of the TIP (Trafficking in Persons) council. Ro Dunn was recommended to the council and appointed to the council in November of 2021. Ro has been an AMTA member and massage therapist for 35. This appointment is a BIG deal. We have a chance to share our concerns and issues with proposed legislation that would negatively impact our ability to practice. We also have the ability to educate others on the council of the laws and controls in place by law and the Dept of Health to protect our profession.

The council was meeting virtually until this year. The size of the council has increased in the last year and various workgroups have formed. Ro has joined one of the new workgroups and is looking forward to the work.

Please join us in congratulating Ro Dunn as this years’ Government Relations and Legislative Advocate.
