Dear AMTA-CT Members,
We are excited to share the success of this year’s Massage Therapy Awareness Day (MTAD) at the Capitol! This incredible event brought together 143 legislators and state employees, allowing us to have impactful conversations about the role of massage therapy in healthcare and the need for continued advocacy.
With over 150 years of combined massage therapy experience in the room, the energy was inspiring, and the discussions reinforced how vital massage therapy is for well-being, recovery, and preventive care. Many attendees expressed appreciation for the dedication and skill that massage therapists bring to the healthcare field, and it was truly rewarding to witness this recognition firsthand.
We want to extend a special shout out to Jodi for inviting her talented students from Asnuntuck Community College. Their presence added a dynamic layer to the event, showcasing the future of massage therapy and emphasizing the importance of education in shaping the next generation of professionals. Their engagement with legislators and industry leaders made a lasting impression!
Events like MTAD remind us of the power of community and advocacy in advancing our profession. As we move forward, let’s continue spreading awareness, supporting each other, and working to integrate massage therapy further into healthcare conversations. Your dedication and passion make all the difference, and we’re grateful for each of you.
Thank you again for being part of this journey. We look forward to seeing you at next year’s Massage Therapy Awareness Day—let’s keep making an impact!
