PAID SPORTS TEAM EVENT – HARTFORD MARATHON

REGISTER NOW

Our AMTA Sports Team is proud to announce that we will be offering massage at the Hartford Marathon on Saturday, October 12 and it will be a paid event for qualified and motivated therapists. Meals and drinks are included for each shift!

We are looking for 20-30 massage therapists with stellar sports massage skills to work this year’s event.

This is a “Red Shirts” event, meaning you need to be an AMTA graduate or professional member with 16 hours of sports massage training to be considered to work. Additional details, including parking, will be emailed when you are confirmed.

Qualified therapists may submit a bid for the following shifts:

1st SHIFT             9:00 am -12:00 pm ($125.00 per shift)
2nd SHIFT          10:30 am -1:30 pm ($125.00 per shift)
Both SHIFTS       9:00 am -1:30 pm ($187.50 4-1/2 hours)

The Hartford Marathon Foundation and the AMTA expect professionalism. Therapists must check-in with the race coordinator and be set-up 30 minutes before their designated shift. Any therapist who arrives late, leaves early or no-shows for the shift they’ve committed to MAY NOT be compensated and will forfeit their opportunity to work a paid event coordinated by the AMTA-CT chapter for 1 year.

Register Now to be considered for the paid shifts. Sign-up DOES NOT guarantee hire. Tama Mackay, Sports Massage Team Chairperson, will confirm with you that you’ve been hired by October 1st.

Therapists must wear their red AMTA-CT Sports Massage Team shirts and are responsible for bringing their own supplies, which may include the following:

  • Table
  • Paper towels
  • Spray cleaner or wipes appropriate to disinfect their tables between clients
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Cans / cups / supports to place under your table legs to keep them from sinking into the soft grounds at Bushnell Park
  • Current CT Massage Therapy license and AMTA Membership Card are required

Prior to the event please complete the Chapter Volunteer Code of Conduct located here.*

ADA assistance available on request.

Therapists will receive payment from The Hartford Marathon Foundation by mail in approximately 1-2 weeks after the race. We look forward to working with you and thank you for your support!
