Course Description
The full body, 50-minute, med spa-style protocol taught in the course utilizes the gentle strokes researched & refined by Dr. Vodder. The protocol is painless to the patient and not physically demanding on the practitioner
In this course students will:
- Learn anatomy and physiology of the lymph system
- Learn anatomy and physiology of the lymph nodes
- Learn the history of MLD
- Learn a full body manual lymph drainage protocol
- Learn indications and contraindications for MLD
- Learn current COVID/pandemic protocols and safety guidelines for Manual Lymphatic Drainage
- Demonstrate the C stroke
- Demonstrate the major lymph channels
- Demonstrate a full body MLD treatment
- Verbally demonstrate knowledge of the lymph system and history of MLD
- Verbally demonstrate knowledge of indications and contra indications for MLD
- Demonstrate safety precautions for COVID/pandemic

Certificates will be provided at the end of the course. Please note that you need to be present for the entire class. Arriving 10 minutes later (including after the break) or leaving early automatically disqualifies you from receiving a certificate. No partial credit can be given.
A limited hotel menu will be available to preorder lunch at the hotel before class starts.
About Saskia
Master practitioner Dr. Saskia is an instructor for the prestigious Manual Lymph Drainage Institute. She began her bodywork training with the Upledger Institute Europe in 1990 and moved to Santa Fe, to receive her education in Massage Therapy from the New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts. She received a doctorate in C.O.R.E. Education from Elfinstone College in 2008. Saskia has taught massage therapy for over 15 years throughout the United States and Europe. She has also written numerous course manuals and teaches various nationally certified continuing education courses. Saskia is currently a member of the Professional Advisory Board of the MLD Institute International, serves as a board member at Cancer Connection in Northampton, and was the first female Chair of the Massage Board in MA where she served for 3 years.

COVID Protocols
Covid19 guidelines are in a state of constant flux. We will provide hand sanitizers and cleaning supplies, and will have a few masks on hand. We follow State and CDC guidelines at the time of the event. If any county in the state moves into a “High Community Spread” level, as determined by the CDC, CDC-approved masks will be required at the event.
