Fall Chapter Meeting


Our Fall Chapter Meeting is Sunday, October 21st at the Hilton Garden Inn in Shelton.  Come a little early for some great networking and ice-breaker activities. If you’ve ever wondered how things work with our lobbyist, this is the meeting for you! Our lobbyist  Paula Clarke, is confirmed as a guest speaker. Learn about the magic behind the scenes.

Simple Bookkeeping for Massage Therapists
Don’t be intimidated by your finances, learn simple bookkeeping with massage therapist and business owner, Holli Nye. Whether you’re self-employed, an employee or getting ready to go out on your own, learning basic record keeping is essential. This class will cover basic cash-basis bookkeeping skills in order to keep financial records of assets, liabilities, revenues, expenses, and balances of accounts for a massage business. During this class different options for credit card processing and bookkeeping software will also be over viewed. These skills will teach students to determine the profitability of their business practices and be prepared to pay estimated taxes and file returns.

Holli Nye, LMT
Holli Nye, LMT graduated from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy (CCMT), Groton campus, in 2005. Upon graduation Holli relocated to South Carolina where she became Nationally Certified and proceeded to work as a massage therapist in a variety of settings; including self-employment, chiropractic offices, a day spa, and a private practice specializing in clients with fibromyalgia. In 2007 Holli completed advanced certification as a medical massage practitioner as well as training in myofascial release.

After moving back to Connecticut, in 2010 Holli founded Therapeutic Touch Massage Therapy in Niantic CT. Holli has also worked as a teaching assistant at CCMT and a board member of The LMT Network.

In early 2017 Holli graduated from Siena Heights University with a Bachelors of Applied Science majoring in massage therapy. Holli is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association, Board Certified with the NCBTMB, and an Approved Provider of Continuing Education. She continues to see clients full time in her Niantic practice while pursuing teaching continuing education to other massage therapists.

Holli is passionate about how massage therapy can benefit people’s lives and advocates for high standards of practice, education, and professionalism within the field of massage therapy.
