AMTA-CT Conference: Lecture Classes

Are hands-on classes at conferences not really your thing? No problem! We have you covered. Our lecture-based classes are:

  • Mental Health and Massage (4 spots left)
    Participants will gain an understanding of the terms and classification used in mental health. Gain the basic concepts on how to approach massage when working within many aspects and diagnosis. Learn how massage can benefit the individual and support families or caregivers of those living with a diagnosis.

  • Ethics from an Eastern Perspective (Thursday) (40 spots left)
    In this class we’ll look at our Standards, Boundaries, and our own internal landscape. We’ll discuss strategies and unique perspectives that may help in navigating the challenges you face with your clients.

  • Modern Prenatal Massage for Today’s Pregnancy (2 spots left)
    We will explore safe draping protocols, proper positioning, keeping optimal body mechanics in side-lying, semi reclined, and supine. The importance of using correct or inclusive language and understand the current guidelines with massage in all trimesters of pregnancy. Explore common issues that occur during pregnancy.

  • Covid: Understanding the Infection, Long Covid (6 spots left)
    This class is designed to help massage therapists gain the understanding of the cumulative effect of having covid, the effect on multi organ systems in the body, and the long-term effects of living with long covid/PASC.

    In this class we’ll look at our Standards, Boundaries, and our own internal landscape. We’ll discuss strategies and unique perspectives that may help in navigating the challenges you face with your clients.
